Building community for games
When creating new games, I always encounter the same problem, marketing the game. My abilities in marketing are quite poor, however I came up with few basics steps that everyone should follow.
Number one, diversify your marketing. When I try to promote my game, I always try to promote it on as much platforms as available. With paid promotions or not, posting various ads for my game on various platforms is beneficial, as I have that small chance, that the post will go viral. For example, I may create a YouTube channel, but it doesn’t get a lot of traction, so I try to make TikTok account and some of my videos may get viral on there, as with its algorithm it’s quite easy to get decent views even on new account.
Number two, maintain your community. When someone eventually clicks on your ad, don’t just make them download the game, make them also join your community, for example discord server, because when people join your server, it is basically a free marketing for your future games.
I haven’t really started marketing for this game, but if you are interested in this project, you should follow me to retrieve all news about it. You can also join a Discord server which I created for it: https://discord.gg/6gjStx3d
